The Panting Racers

Fatima Altaf (Group Sumayyah)

By the racers, panting,
And the producers of sparks [when] striking
And the chargers at dawn,
Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust,
Arriving thereby in the center collectively,
Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful. [Al Adiyaat:1-6]

The first five ayahs of this surah speak of the horses that are obedient to their master, they gallop speedily and go within enemy ranks without even a flinch. Humans should take a lesson from this, how do we obey Allah (swt)? Do we run speedily when we hear a command and try to fulfill it, or do we stay back and let others proceed first?
