Ad Duha V.1-11
Medihah Hussain (Group Ruqayyah)
This surah to me was one of the most touching and heart warming. I felt that it was speaking directly to me and the rest of the class. When I read this surah it is as though I am seeing my reflection in the mirror. In the beginning the verse:
And He found you lost and guided [you], [Ad Duha: 7].
Before learning the Qur’an my state was that of one who is misguided. Allah (swt) found me in this state and through His speech He has bought me to the straight path. Later in verse 10 Allah (swt) is telling us what our attitude should be towards those who have not learnt Qur’an yet as our journey comes to an end.
And as for the petitioner, do not repel [him]. [Ad Duha:10]
Those who ask us we should not repel them because we were also once misguided. As the Qur’an nears the end we learn how our behavior should be once we go back to our daily activity. And at the end of the surah the greatest advice that Allah (Swt) gives us is: But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. [Ad Duha:11].
When the Qur’an is completed our job is to now to tell others about what we learnt. Our job is not over it has only begun; it is time to inform others of this greatest blessing we have received over the past 16 months.
