Sufficient
As for he who thinks himself without need, [Abasa:5]
The disbelievers in Makkah thought that they did not need the religion of Allah, they had the assumption that their wealth and status was sufficient enough. Although, time and time again throughout the Quran it mentions that we in fact are the ones who need Allah and He needs no one. So how did the Makkan’s come to such a conclusion? Their ideology about the hereafter and resurrection had deluded them into thinking they were self-sufficient. Ultimately Islam came and corrected society and its belief system. We should ask ourselves, do we ask Allah for every one of our needs and do we thank Him at all times?
