Hypocrites
And when you see them, their forms please you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. [They are] as if they were pieces of wood propped up – they think that every shout is against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allāh destroy them; how are they deluded? [Al Munafiqoon:4]
Just as in any era it is not possible to tell who is a hypocrite. When it comes to faith it is something that is in the heart and none other than Allah (swt) knows how much each person has. However, we should be careful. This surah has taught me to be careful about whom we follow and make friends with. A lot of times hypocrites seem just like any other person but we must see their actions and attitude towards the Qur’an and the sunnah.
