Bathoola Fathima (Al Huda Student)
The Surah begins with an oath being taken by the pen. The pen has a long history as it was created before man. The pen is a powerful tool in many ways; it can convey the deen, for example. It was used to inscribe destiny, quran and book of deeds the angels write.
Allah tells us about the story of brothers who had a garden and they did not share their part of profits with the poor, needy and relatives. Allah (swt) took everything away from them in one night. Inshallah we should share whatever we have with the needy, poor and our relatives as it is Allah who gave us the profit and we could not have done it alone.
