Man is Helpless
Abdalla Farah (Group Sumaya)
But when they saw it, they said, “Indeed, we are lost;
Rather, we have been deprived.”
The most moderate of them said, “Did I not say to you, ‘Why do you not exalt [Allāh]?’ “
They said, “Exalted is our Lord! Indeed, we were wrongdoers.”
Then they approached one another, blaming each other.
They said, “O woe to us; indeed we were transgressors.
Perhaps our Lord will substitute for us [one] better than it. Indeed, we are toward our Lord desirous.” [Al Qalam:26-32]
In Surah Al Qalam Ayats I was struck by man’s helplessness before Allah (swt).
Humans have no power nor ownership of their own possessions. Whatever they have belongs to Allah (swt). Everything we own is a blessing that should be used in His way. Those who transgress will suffer affliction from their Rabb. They will be deprived of the blessings. If they seek forgiveness Allah might substitute with that which is better. This shows the might, mercy and knowledge of Allah (Swt) and He is aware of what man conceals and what he reveals.
