[Allāh said], “Then set out with My servants by night. Indeed, you are to be pursued.
And leave the sea in stillness. Indeed, they are an army to be drowned.”
How much they left behind of gardens and springs
And crops and noble sites
And comfort wherein they were amused.
Thus. And We caused to inherit it another people.
And the heaven and earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved. [Ad Dukhan:23-29]
There is so much to be learnt from the example of Pharaoh. Firstly, no matter it is what we plan Allah (Swt) has His own plan and that is something that we can not interfere with. Secondly, the thing that really made me think was the fact that we are working so hard now in this world but at the end of the day when we die none of this will help us in any way.
At that moment while sitting in class I look towards the heavens: Oh Allah (swt) I know you are listening so please grant us the understanding of these verses. Allah (Swt) allow us to put our hereafter first and not dwell over the worldly gain that we could be attaining.
To me it is all about priority, what is it that each of us is working for?
