State of Heart

Allāh has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allāh. That is the guidance of Allāh by which He guides whom He wills. And one whom Allāh leaves astray – for him there is no guide. [Az Zumar:23]
We can see this verse tells us the way in which our body should react to hearing Qur’an. First the hearts shiver from remembering Allah (swt) and from His commands. Then their bodies and heart relax due to the love of Allah (swt) they feel. There is a balance of love and fear; so let us check ourselves. What is our state when we read the Qur’an?
