There was for [the tribe of] Saba’ in their dwelling place a sign: two [fields of] gardens on the right and on the left. [They were told], “Eat from the provisions of your Lord and be grateful to Him. A good land [have you], and a forgiving Lord.”
But they turned away [refusing], so We sent upon them the flood of the dam, and We replaced their two [fields of] gardens with gardens of bitter fruit, tamarisks and something of sparse lote trees.
[By] that We repaid them because they disbelieved. And do We [thus] repay except the ungrateful? [Saba:15-17]
After reading this account of the people of Saba what is the first thing that comes to your mind? Many of us will be quick to say that so and so does the same thing but I believe we should take a moment to see how we can fit ourselves into this situation. How many of us actually take time out of our busy lives to give thanks to Allah (swt) or who actually thanks Allah every time you are able to turn the page of the Qur’an. Below is a video which reminds me of the blessings that we have. Let us try to be grateful for all that we have before the blessing is taken from us.
