Personal Decision

It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allāh and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair. And whoever disobeys Allāh and His Messenger has certainly strayed into clear error. [Al Ahzaab:36]
Allah (swt) is clarifying a matter that many have taken into their own hands. I really felt touched by this verse because it was the criterion for us upon which to base our actions. Sometimes it is very hard to follow a command whether in the Qur’an or in the sunnah. However, Allah (swt) is reminding us that we do not have a choice of our own. Once the matter has been decided who are we to change their decision?
