Soft Speech

O wives of the Prophet, you are not like anyone among women. If you fear Allāh, then do not be soft in speech [to men], lest he in whose heart is disease should covet, but speak with appropriate speech. [Al Ahzaab:32]
Allah (swt) has given the wives of the Prophet (saw) advice regarding how to deal with male members of the community. As Muslims women this advice can also be used. When talking to a male we should remember to have dignity in our manner, speech and actions. The men who have a disease in their hearts refers to those who are weak in their beliefs and may not be able to control themselves. It is a natural reaction that sometimes when a woman speaks softly and has a certain casual body language that men become attracted to her. As women we can make a mans job easier if we only speak what is necessary and take out all the extra body movements.
