Al Ahzaab V.1-8
The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves, and his wives are [in the position of] their mothers. And those of [blood] relationship are more entitled [to inheritance] in the decree of Allāh than the [other] believers and the emigrants, except that you may do to your close associates a kindness [through bequest]. That was in the Book inscribed. [Al Ahzab:6]
The surah begins by giving back the rights people deserve. Starting with the Prophet whom Allah says is more deserving of the believers than they are of themselves. This is something with which many of us have trouble; we put ourselves before everything and everyone else. There is such an attitude of “Me, Myself and I” that everyone is rooting only for themselves. Now we must drop this attitude and adopt the “Allah, Rasoolallah and Me” attitude.
