Indeed, those who [falsely] accuse chaste, unaware and believing women are cursed in this world and the Hereafter; and they will have a great punishment. [An Nur:23]
This verse reminded me of an incient that occurred within my family a few years ago. One of the women of the family was accused of having some relation with a nephew of her husbands. Everyone turned against her and began to talk bad to others about her including her husband. In the end it was found out that she was actually free of the accusations.
For this reason we can see that Allah (swt) wants to protect the women from anything that will be said negatively towards them. Those that accuse have a big punishment because a womans reputation is at stake, we must realize our actions are great.
