True Worth

d present to them the example of the life of this world, [its being] like rain which We send down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it and [then] it becomes dry remnants, scattered by the winds. And Allāh is ever, over all things, Perfect in Ability. [Al Kahf:45]
I learnt a very important lesson from this verse about the worth of the worldly life. I find myself distracted from worship sometimes due to things of the world. The life of this world is like the rain which comes down and benefits for a while and then the ground and plants are dry and back to their original state. The benefit from this world that we gather with so much desire will only be of use temporarily. It is our duty as a believer to aspire towards the hereafter.
