Allah Answers

Student of Al Huda

And he said to the one whom he knew would go free, “Mention me before your master.” But Satan made him forget the mention [to] his master, and Joseph remained in prison several years. [Yusuf:42]
Yusuf (as) was a prophet and from this verse we can see that even prophets were human. When one of the prisoners was to go free he asked to be mentioned so that his master would free him. However, at this critical time he did not think of turning to Allah (swt) and asking Him to help. How many times do we do this in our everyday lives? We can see due to shaitan making Yusuf (as) forget to mention Allah he had to stay in prison for a longer time. We should make sure we first turn to Allah (swt) and then to anyone else.
