 The Domino Effect

Student of Al Huda

They said, “O our father, indeed we went racing each other and left Joseph with our possessions, and a wolf ate him. But you would not believe us, even if we were truthful.” [Yusuf:17]
An important lesson to note from this verse is that when you lie one time it becomes easier to lie for the second time. The brothers of Yusuf (as) lied first about being sincere and taking him out with them when truly they had planned to throw him in a well. We should be careful because when we lie once we have to lie another ten times just to continue covering up that one.
