Heat of Duniya Vs. Hell

Student of Al Huda
Those who remained behind rejoiced in their staying [at home] after [the departure of] the Messenger of Allāh and disliked to strive with their wealth and their lives in the cause of Allāh and said, ”Do not go forth in the heat.” Say, “The fire of Hell is more intensive in heat” – if they would but understand. [At Tawbah:81]
One of the most common questions I get asked regarding my hijab is “Don’t you feel hot under there?” This question came into my mind when we looked at verse 81 as it was the same thing that the hypocrites were saying. The heat on this world is bearable but I won’t be able to bear what is to come in the hereafter. It was mentioned that the heat in hell would be 70 times hotter than anything on the earth. So would you rather face the heat on earth or the blazing hellfire?
