 Wealth and Children

Student of Al Huda
So let not their wealth or their children impress you. Allāh only intends to punish them through them in worldly life and that their souls should depart [at death] while they are disbelievers. [At Tawbah:55]
A common theme that we see in the Qur’an is that children and wealth are a means to test a person. When we are blessed the next step is to see what we do with that blessing. Do we use our wealth in Allah’s way? Are we stingy with our wealth? Are our children more beloved than Allah? Do they hinder us from Allah’s way? Do we teach them the true religion from the time they are small or do we think it is not important? Remember these things are a test.
