No Differences

Student of Al Huda
And do not send away those who call upon their Lord morning and afternoon, seeking His countenance. Not upon you is anything of their account and not upon them is anything of your account. So were you to send them away, you would [then] be of the wrongdoers. [Al An’aam:52]
This particular verse is addressing the prophet (saw) but we can also take a lesson from what is being told to him. This verse dissolves any belief that Islam differentiates between the rich and the poor, the higher status from the lower etc. Before the eyes of Allah (swt) every person is equal and it is your level of piety which differentiates you from another. Due to this we should not befriend nor make fun of, nor turn away anyone who is a believer as we never know who the dearest to Allah (swt) is.
