Ambreen Haneef (Group Khadija)
Today when I was praying I felt that for once it was actually coming from my heart and that I truly was talking to Allah (swt). It is not everyday that we pray in such a state and the reason for why I was praying in such a way was because of today’s class in which I realized the true importance of prayer. Today we learnt that even when the prophet (saw) and the companions were in battle they used to pray. On the battlefield half would pray and half would defend and then they would switch. This really struck me deep within my heart that there is no excuse not to pray. If they would pray on the battlefield then why is it that we make excuses such as going shopping and changing diapers our main reason not to pray. We do not have anything that suffices as an excuse for why we missed our prayers and I know that next time I do not feel like praying I will remember this. In our situation we are battling our soul, to pray or not to pray.
