Reflecting: Ayat Ul Kursi

Student of Al Huda
For home work I was given the task to reflect on Aytul Kursi. On the way to work I listened to the recitation on my mp3 player. I was feeling quite low this morning and I don’t know why. I’m sure you have all experienced that feeling when you feel empty and numb sometimes for no apparent reason. It was a busy time in the morning with every body going to work and I had aytul kursi being recited in my ears. As I sat on the bus I reflected on what I had learned and although I could not fully understand the arabic I certainly felt it. I knew who Allah was: Hayyul Qayyuum the ever living, the one who sustains and he protects all that exists. I felt an overwhelming feeling in my heart. I felt a connection because I knew that Allah (swt) right there at that moment knew exactly how I was feeling. He knows what happens to his creation at all times. Allah knew how I was feeling at that very moment and I got such comfort from this. By the time I got off the bus I was smiling because I did not feel that numb lonely feeling anymore and I’m still smiling Allhumdulillah.
