Wherever you face, He is there.

Student of Al Huda
Those to whom We gave the Scripture know him as they know their own sons. But indeed, a party of them conceal the truth while they know [it].[Al Baqarah:146]
Those who were given the scripture were clearly told in their books about the coming of the messenger Muhammad (pbuh). All the signs were clearly stated in the Bible and the Torah yet they denied this. They hid the truth, this can be done when dealing with people but how can one hide the truth from Allah? Allah mentions:
The truth is from your Lord, so never be among the doubters.[Al Baqarah:147]
We have no right to doubt the words of Allah, the only right we have is to believe and act upon them. Allah also says that each religious following has its own way that it faces during prayer but He is in every direction no matter where one faces.
He also says that on the day of judgement no matter where you face He will bring everyone together for judgement. As the changing of the direction of prayer was such a big issue Allah addresses it that He is the one that will bring us all together no matter where we face so there is no need to make it into such a big thing.
