Student of Al Huda
There are many lessons to be taken from these verses if you are one to take heed. It is amazing to think about all that we have been bestowed with from Allah. He truly is the merciful who gives to those who obey as well as those who disobey. Take a look at Bani Israel in these verses it shows the disobedience they had in their hearts, when they were freed from the cruelty of Pharoah and the sea was parted they still disobeyed. When Allah called Moses (as) to the mountains for forty days they took the calf for worship after that and Allah still turned in mercy on them.
Do we ever wander how much we disobey Allah and how much He still gives us? There is no one in comparison to Him and He is the most forgiving. Bani Israel were very obnoxious and they were heedless; they demanded to Musa (as) to let them see Allah (swt) openly before their eyes. Due to this a thunderbolt came and struck all of them; because of their sins they were recompensed. Do we ever think about the recompense for our actions?
Another blessing that Bani Israel were given was the Mann and Salwa from the sky which was food already prepared. What a blessing it is that Allah sends one food outright from the heavens. Yet they still disbelieved although this was a clear sign of the might and power of Allah.
And [recall] when We saved your forefathers from the people of Pharaoh, who afflicted you with the worst torment, slaughtering your [newborn] sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.[ Al Baqarah:49]
From this ayah I learnt the fact that anything that reaches us whether it be good or bad comes from Allah (swt). We will be given good and it will be a test for us, who do we remember at that time? We also will be afflicted with things that will hurt us and at that time it is a test to see who will turn to Allah. We must remember Allah no matter what is going on in our life and if we disobey Allah then we wrong ourselves and no one else. Just as when we go to school we must past a test to go into a higher class- Allah also tests us and only those who pass will be raised while the others will be sorrowful and regretful for the opportunity they missed.
