Final Chapter Of Qur’an

The 30th Juzz
Though this may be the end of the Quran, our job is far from over. The surah’s in the 30th juzz repeat the themes from the entire Quran again but the main focus is upon the hereafter. We are being prepared-the instructions of how to behave in regards to the hereafter and what deeds will give us eternal success is outlined within the last Juzz. The end is the beginning, a chance for us to implement all we have learnt and turn back to our Creator.

Surah An Naba Recitation

An Naba V.1-40

Thoughtless Utterance

Fatima Altaf (Al Huda Student)
No ill speech will they hear therein or any falsehood – [An Naba:35]
Sometimes we feel like escaping all the noise around us, we want to filter out the bad sounds and words that people speak. It is never easy though because we always encounter people who don’t always have the good to say. In complete contrast, the people of Paradise will talk to one another comfortably but none of their conversations will contain any sort of thoughtless utterance or purposeless speech. They will not interrupt one another to negate what the latter had said. Believers avoid arguing with one another and speaking uselessly, the believers will be the ones in Paradise.

Wish To Be Dust

Medihah Hussain (Group Ruqayyah)
Indeed, We have warned you of a near punishment on the Day when a man will observe what his hands have put forth and the disbeliever will say, “Oh, I wish that I were dust!” [An Naba:40]
How many times have we wished we had never existed because something went against our will? Even the slightest thought counts. However, how will it feel to want to be dust before Allah (swt)? What brings a person to the point where they wish they would have ceased to exist? It scares me to know that our deeds or the lack thereof will have us humiliated and degraded before the almighty. Oh Allah (swt) save us from being in their places and give us success! Ameen.

Surah Al Mursalaat Recitation

Al Mursalaat V.1-50

The Approaching End

Beenish Mairaj (Group Aisha)
The surah that touched me the most in the 29th Juzz was Surah al-Mursalat. In ayah seven, Allah (swt) says:
Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. [Al Mursalaat:7]

We have studied the theme of the day of Judgment’s coming in many parts of the Quran but for some reason it really hit me this time how near the end truly is. Allah(swt) is being straight-forward and mentioning the reality. It makes you think that the Day of Judgement is so sure to happen, so what am I doing to prepare for it? The second last Juzz of the Quran is coming to an end and it’s allowing us to enter into the last part of the Quran, with a clear message. The Last day is coming; it’s definitely going to happen, so how much have I changed since the beginning? How much has the Quran shook me and crushed me and tore my heart apart? How much have I cried after learning so much of the Quran and how much of it have I incorporated in my life? How much have I acted upon and how many commands do I still have yet to obey? It made me realize that I have to change now…if still the Quran does not change any person, if there is one person who is still not affected by the Quran then surely there is something corrupt inside himself and not the Quran. And if this Quran does not mold a person, if this Quran does not shake a person and make them change who they are, then there is no power, no book in the world that can change him. Allah (swt) Himself says in the concluding ayah of this surah:
Then in what statement after this Quran, will they believe and have faith in?[Al Mursalaat:50]

Surah Al Insaan Recitation

Al Insaan V.1-31

An Honor

Hira Mushtaq (Al Huda Student)
In the Qur’an we have read some surahs which are named after the Prophets. This surah’s name is Al-insaan which includes every human being. I feel this is an honour for mankind. Although humans are mentioned throughout the Qur’an I feel honored because in this surah there is more good news presented to the human being and only one verse that deals with punishment. Also there is a mention of those qualities by which we can attain jannah. This surah is a complete guide for human beings regarding how a human should live his life and what qualities will get him paradise.

Insignificant Spec

Fatima Altaf (Al Huda Student)
Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. [Al Insaan:2]
Mankind has been made of sperm-drop, an insignificant spec turning into a full human being. Allah has put within us every intricate detail, some of which we know and some of which we do not. The reason for our creation has been to test us and see whether we pass or fail. Allah has given us the faculty of hearing and seeing, and what other way are we supposed to use them than to worship Allah. With these blessings and the blessings of life and Iman we can attain Jannah, the ultimate success.

The two destinations

Azka Mariam (Al Huda Student)
One Surah that struck me a lot was surah Ad-Dahr from Juz 29. It was explained very clearly the two destinations and the characters that will enter the two destinations. As Allah (swt) says Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. [Al Insaan:3]
Later it goes on to describe the grateful one who fulfills his vows and fears Allah and feeds the poor and so on. And in the end ayaat, there is encouragement for one to be that character with a description of Jannah in very exquisite detail. Thus, this surah was and is a very big motivator for me and it also teaches us that in dawah to Allah we need to also encourage people with good/positive messages just as Allah (swt) is encouraging us. We need to be a warner and a bringer of good news.
