Al Ma’arij V.1-44

Fifty Thousand
The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years.
So be patient with gracious patience.
Indeed, they see it [as] distant,
But We see it [as] near. [Al Ma’arij:4-7]

Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, will take in His grip of the earth on the Day of Judgment and He would roll up the sky in His right hand and would say: I am the Lord; wbere are the sovereigns of the world? [Muslim]
Having to wait for the Day of Judgment to begin is going to be almost as hard as going through it. Imagine having to wait fifty thousand years and during that time you are feeling scared and anxious. It is like going to find out the results of a test at school that will determine whether you get a diploma or not. Imagine the feelings you have at that time and now think of how these feelings could almost destroy you if they were constantly with you for centuries upon centuries.

A Forgotten Relation

Fatima Anum (Al Huda Student)
In this world people die to get the best education for their children,
to provide the best for their children and their spouses just so that they may have the best.
But most of the time during all this hassle, people tend to forget the rights of Allah (SWT),
or that we are sent in this world in order to obey Allah (SWT), worship Him alone.
However on that Day- the Day of Judgement, man will wish to ransom his wife, his children,
his close relatives in order to be saved from the scorching fire of Hell. Instead of helping the family,
he will be seeking their help; he will be ready to substitute them for his place in Hell.

Surah Al Haaqah Recitation

Al Haaqah V.1-52

The Inevitable
The Inevitable Reality –
What is the Inevitable Reality?
And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? [Al Haaqah:1-3]

This surah is a real awakening for anyone who does not believe that there is a life after death. Something that we should think about is if there is no resurrection then how will there be justice for those who were oppressed? Allah (swt) is the just and He only tolerates justice. For those who deny the day when justice and truth will prevail this is an oath that it is definitely going to occur whether you desire to believe in it or not.

Greatest Loss
But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, “Oh, I wish I had not been given my record
And had not known what is my account.
I wish my death had been the decisive one.
My wealth has not availed me.
Gone from me is my authority.” [Al Haaqah:25-29]

Wealth, children, houses, power, authority, businesses- what do all of these have in common? These are all things that will be lost from a person on the Day of Judgment when the only thing one will have is his deeds. It is up to us whether we use these things for Allah (swt) or not. It would be the greatest loss to have worked hard with all these things and then have these things be the cause of your loss. Nothing will avail us that day so what is it that we will take forward?
