Al Huda Welcomes A Visitor
A Calligraphy Visit
Today was very exciting as we had a guest come in from Pakistan. Aunty Zareena came in and spoke to us about the art of calligraphy. She told us about the different kinds of things that can be used to write with and write on adn to use nature. She motivated us to actually try and improve on our calligraphy skills. Below are some pictures of her artwork.

Az Zukhruf Recitation V.68-89
68.[To whom Allāh will say], “O My servants, no fear will there be concerning you this Day, nor will you grieve,
69. [You] who believed in Our verses and were Muslims.
70. Enter Paradise, you and your kinds, delighted.
71. Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.
72. And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do.
73. For you therein is much fruit from which you will eat. (more…)

Az Zukhruf V.57-89
Jannah: A Poem
Enter Paradise, you and your kinds, delighted.”
Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.
And that is Paradise which you are made to inherit for what you used to do.
For you therein is much fruit from which you will eat. [Az Zukhruf:70-73]
Below is a poem that was written by someone regarding heaven:
Close your eyes and imagine this
Eternal bliss,
your every wish,
at your finger tips
and more…
Perched on a throne, near a stream
So serene, and exquisite a scene
You’ve never seen
Yet you still dream
of more….
Gone is grief, gone is fear
Gone is pain, gone are tears
Idle speech you shall never hear
And the Prophets make up your social sphere
and more… (more…)

Az Zukhruf V.26-56
Disassociate
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham said to his father and his people, “Indeed, I am disassociated from that which you worship
Except for He who created me; and indeed, He will guide me.” [Az Zukhruf: 26-27]
I learnt a valuable lesson from these verses today. Recently when I was talking to people who were of a different religion I felt a hesitation in telling them that I disagreed with their principles. this lesson taught me that we should not be hesitating to disassociate ourselves from what is wrong.

A Diamond Show
And if it were not that the people would become one community [of disbelievers], We would have made for those who disbelieve in the Most Merciful – for their houses – ceilings and stairways of silver upon which to mount
And for their houses – doors and couches [of silver] upon which to recline
And gold ornament. But all that is not but the enjoyment of worldly life. And the Hereafter with your Lord is for the righteous.
And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful – We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion. [Az Zukhruf:33-36]
I remember going to a museum once where we saw a diamond show. We got to see the way they make diamonds and in the end there were so many beautiful things crafted out of shining diamonds. Now I am reminded of that scene and I was thinking that Allah (Swt) is creating a beautiful scene for us in these verses. All of the mentioned things hold such an extreme high value to us but to Allah (swt) they are not worth anything. He clearly has said if it wasn’t that all Muslims would revert he would give disbelievers all the goods in the world. So really if Allah (swt) is not looking at all the things we are amassing then what is it He looks at? Our insides should be decorated like the diamonds and gold we wish for.

Az Zukhruf V.1-25
Transportation Dua
And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount.
That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. “Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it.
And indeed we, to our Lord, will [surely] return.” [Az Zukhruf:12-14]
Today when we read the supplication for sitting in the car it really touched me. We say this whenever we sit in the car but it felt like today was the first time I was saying it because I actually understood the wisdom behind it. When we have settled it is our duty to thank Allah (swt). We are also witnessing that although we feel safe in the car the only one who is controlling the car is Allah (swt). If anything happens to the car we can not control it or tell it what to do. Therefore, we pronounce that if anything was to go wrong we will be returning to our Lord.
I was thinking about the way in which we sit in cars and on motorbikes etc. Doesn’t it seem weird that we are sitting on something that is elevated off the ground and is so convenient for our everyday lives? Who could have given man this power other than Allah (Swt)? Now I am sure that when I say this dua I will truly mean it.
The Supplication is the first part of the video.
