Al Huda Celebrates
Nikah Ceremony
Today Al Huda celebrated the nikah of their tafsir teacher. After a regular day at school in which they were also taught tafsir by their teacher they all got dressed up to celebrate the happy occasion. Everyone filed into the main hall after getting dolled up and watched a presentation about nikah in Islam and then attended Asr prayer before the actual nikah ceremony. Once the ceremony was over everyone enjoyed the food and got to congratulate the new bride. Below are some feelings of the students regarding the joy filled day:

When the announcement was made last week that it was going to be the tafsir teachers wedding I thought that we would get a day off or something or at least someone else would teach us tafsir. I was really shocked that on her wedding day she taught us tafsir, for me this was something out of the ordinary. Usual brides are being pampered right before their wedding and she was teaching Qur’an. This really showed me that Qur’an comes before anything else and that getting married is also just a part of life and we can not let it take us away from our daily tasks.

I really enjoyed the wedding because it was not like the usual weddings where everyone has taken a day off work and is sitting around talking about who looks good and who doesn’t and wandering around aimlessly. We had a presentation which was also a learning factor for us and taught us how to search for the right person and how nikah is done. After this we got to see a live nikah which really was amazing!

I really liked the fact that the hall was decorated with lights and a nikah board, it really looked like it was a happy occasion and it really showed the fact that Islam allows us to have fun within our limits.

When the nikah ceremony was done in less than five minutes I was so shocked I could not believe it. The weddings that I have attended have always had a long process where the nikah ends up taking up to at least half an hour or more. I used to wonder what exactly it is that takes all that time but this nikah was very simple and it really showed how much we have added to our weddings. It is so simple to get married and we turn it into a big mission.

Al Isra V.90-111
Walking Faces

And whoever Allāh guides – he is the [rightly] guided; and whoever He sends astray – you will never find for them protectors besides Him, and We will gather them on the Day of Resurrection [fallen] on their faces – blind, dumb and deaf. Their refuge is Hell; every time it subsides We increase them in blazing fire. [Al Isra:97]
After reading verses like this we are so quick to say “Oh okay if I am not guided it is not my fault it is because Allah (swt) does not want me to be guided.” However, Allah will give you what you wish for so wish for guidance and you will have.

I was so scared after reading this verse where it talks about people walking on their faces when they are resurrected. I tried to imagine this scene and seemed like something out of a horror movie. I can not picture a scene like this. However, we believe in what Allah (swt) is telling us and he has the power to do as he wills. We should seek refuge that we be one of those who is humiliated in such a way.

That is their recompense because they disbelieved in Our verses and said, “When we are bones and crumbled particles, will we [truly] be resurrected [in] a new creation?” [Al Isra:98] The reason of their humiliation is that they disbelieved in the resurrection, we should make sure we have absolutely no doubt in our heart that it will occur.

Al Isra V.71-89
Book Of Deeds

[Mention, O Muúammad], the Day We will call forth every people with their record [of deeds]. Then whoever is given his record in his right hand – those will read their records, and injustice will not be done to them, [even] as much as a thread [inside the date seed]. [Al Isra:71]
For a moment imagine yourself holding a box of marbles and suddenly it falls to the ground. All these marbles spread across the floor and it is hard for you to find every single one of them. This is the example of our deeds, we have done so many deeds that it is hard for us to remember all of them. Imagine on the Day of Judgment our book of deed will be given to us and it won’t have left out even the smallest of details. It is hard for us to remember the smallest thing we have done and this book will not have messed anything in this way no one will have injustice done to them on that day.
