An Nahl V.1-32
Allah Is One

He sends down the angels, with the inspiration of His command, upon whom He wills of His servants, [telling them], “Warn that there is no deity except Me; so fear Me.” [An Nahl: 2]
My first attempt to tell someone about Islam is something I consider a very big disaster but allhumdulillah I have learnt a lot from it. When I was answered back I did not know what to say and instead of starting with who Allah (swt) is I allowed the discussion to go into the differences of our religions. This verse really made it clear that what we have to warn and focus on is that Allah (swt) is one. This should be the essence of our message.

Ask Yourself

He created man from a sperm-drop; then at once, he is a clear adversary. [An Nahl:4]
Its time to check your state of our heart again. Ask yourself the following question and analyze yourself:
We have been created from nothing but a sperm drop- something we consider to be very small. Do I ever feel as though I am better than others or do I ever look down upon anyone in any way? If so how is it I can rid myself of this feeling?

Blessings

He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and from all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought. [An Nahl:11]

Subjagation

And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason. [An Nahl:12]
Don’t you feel special when you read this verse? Allah (swt) created these things for our benefit. If it was not for the human then what use would there be for the sun and moon? They are all subjugated for us and yet we complain we do not have any blessings!

Creator Or Creation

Then is He who creates like one who does not create? So will you not be reminded? [An Nahl:17]
The Qur’an is truly a divine book- look at the beauty of the style of writing. Allah (swt) places a question to those who worship others in association to Him. He mentions that He is the creator and how can He be like the one who does not create anything? It is a question that everyone should think about. This question is also related to verses 20 and 21 in which Allah (swt) again brings proof to make those who worship others think about their beliefs:

And those they invoke other than Allāh create nothing, and they [themselves] are created.
They are, [in fact], dead, not alive, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected. [An Nahl: 20-21]

Carrying Burdens

That they may bear their own burdens in full on the Day of Resurrection and some of the burdens of those whom they misguide without knowledge. Unquestionably, evil is that which they bear. [An Nahl:25]
Picture this: someone is going on vacation and has a suitcase for their belongings. This person also has to carry the suitcase of the person who is with them and so has two suitcases which must be carried by hand to the airport. Would you not think that there is something wrong with such a person who is carrying the burden of two people? Well this is the example of those who lead others astray, they will carry their own burden and also the burden of those they leave astray.

Qur’an Is Good

And it will be said to those who feared Allāh, “What did your Lord send down?” They will say, “[That which is] good.” For those who do good in this world is good; and the home of the Hereafter is better. And how excellent is the home of the righteous – [An Nahl:30]
During class a story was given in regard to this verse: someone asked one of the girls who is learning Qur’an what it is like and the only thing she could say was that it is all good. This shows us that when we are asked about what is in the Qur’an we should say “Khaira” (good). It is a small word that encompasses the whole Qur’an into it.
