 Forever Grateful

My Lord, You have given me [something] of sovereignty and taught me of the interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and in the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.” [Yusuf:101]
Upon meeting his family after so many years the first thing that Yusuf (as) does is raise them on to his throne. This shows that we should respect our parents and treat them with love. At this time had we been in this situation we would have started catching up with all the things that we missed in our lives. However, Yusuf (as) starts by thanking and glorifying Allah (swt) without His help all of this would have not been possible. We should also look at the way in which the dua is made and check our own dua. Is it as beautiful? Look at the way in which he addresses Allah (swt). The love is evident but when we turn to Allah (swt) how do our duas sound? If someone was to write them down and read them to us would they be this beautiful and eloquent?
