Persistent Patience

[Jacob] said, “Rather, your souls have enticed you to something, so patience is most fitting. Perhaps Allāh will bring them to me all together. Indeed it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise.” [Yusuf:83]
With Yusuf (as) now in one of the highest positions in Egypt his brothers come to him to get provisions for their family as their was a famine. When he asked his brothers to bring Benjamin, his younger brother, they bring him only after having promised their father to bring him back. At this point they do not know this is the same brother that they threw in the well. When Yusuf (as) devises a plan to keep Benjamin the brothers have to tell their father. At this point the eldest brother decides he will not go home as they already disappointed their father with taking care of Yusuf (as). Upon learning that now three of his sons are missing instead of wailing and cursing and shouting Jacob (as) says he will be patient. Even in this situation he has patience and does not blow up. This really made me so surprised, I have never been in this bad of a situation but yet I always lose my patience. We should take a lesson from the way that Jacob (as) behaves.
